Since joining the company in 2004, Mr. Deaton has served Baker Hughes as Chairman of the Board and CEO.

Prior to joining Baker Hughes, Mr. Deaton was with Hanover Compressor and formerly with Schlumberger Oilfield Services.

Mr. Deaton is active in numerous charitable organizations, such as Houston Achievement and Junior Achievement of Southeast Texas. He is active in many industry organizations, such as the International Association of Drilling Contractors, the American Petroleum Institute, National Ocean Industries Association and the National Petroleum Council.

Mr. Deaton is a native of Wyoming and earned a BS in geology from the University of Wyoming.
