The Greater Houston Partnership will lead and facilitate initiatives that establish the Houston region as a business magnet. The Partnership will support and promote visible initiatives that differentiate Houston and capitalize on core strengths and resources.

Commercial Infrastructure
In cooperation with the Port of Houston Authority, Houston Airport System, Consular Corps and international chambers and trade offices:
Trade Promotion and International Outreach
Assist international companies in relocating to or expanding in the Houston region; provide briefings and arrange business-to-business meetings for inbound trade delegations.
Organize and support outbound trade missions to build upon the region's strong, international commercial ties and enhance the image of the Houston region as a gateway to global markets throughout the world. Learn more >>
The Greater Houston Partnership will be the proactive visionary to build and maintain an infrastructure and business environment that sets Houston apart, nationally and globally, as the most attractive place for business.
Education and Work Force Development
Expand and activate the support and interest of business in a strong educational system to assure a quality work force is available in the Houston region.
Business Issues
Review local, state and federal tax and fiscal policy initiatives to determine the impact on the economic development of the region.
Health Care Issues
Prepare to promote comprehensive statewide health reform in the 2009 Legislative Session through a health policy task force comprised of regional business and community leaders.
Environmental Initiatives and Quality of Life
Improve Houston's quality of life by developing more green space, preservations, bike trails, parks and other amenities, as well as promoting green building in the Houston region.
The Greater Houston Partnership will be the aggressive driver of local, regional, state and federal public policy that makes Houston one of the top four regions in the United States for business.
Federal Advocacy
Maintain an open line of communication with our congressional delegation and staff, which enables the Partnership to deal more easily with federal issues.
Promote sufficient appropriation packages for the Port of Houston Authority, the Texas Department of Transportation, I-69 and NASA.
Development of Americans for Immigration Reform - a coalition formed to represent comprehensive immigration policy. This is the first of its kind formed by any business organization such as the Greater Houston Partnership.
State and Local Advocacy
Identify policy issues that support Houston businesses and develop white papers in preparation for the 81 st Legislative Session.
Continue cultivation of relationships with legislators and further develop pro-business relationships with government officials.
