Registration is now closed for this event.  Following the results of the November 5 election, the Partnership's Future of Texas series will host Dr. Mark Jones and Dr. Richard Murray, two distinguished political science professors, who will provide their insight and expertise on the November 5 election results and the political winds to come in 2020. Mark P. Jones, Ph.D. is a fellow in political science at Rice University's Baker Institute for Public Policy, the Joseph D. Jamail Chair in Latin American Studies, and a professor in the Department of Political Science at Rice University. He is a frequent commentator in local, state, national and international media on government, politics and public policy. He is also a frequent contributor to Texas media outlets, and his research on the Texas Legislature has been widely cited in the media as well as by numerous political campaigns. Richard W. Murray, Ph.D., is the Bob Lanier Chair in Urban Public Policy at the University of Houston's Department of Political Science and Director of Survey Research Institute at the University of Houston Center for Public Policy. Professor Murray conducts polls for The Houston Chronicle and other media, local governments. He is also the political commentator for the local ABC affiliate, KTRK-TV, Channel 13. His analyses and commentary are regularly carried by national media outlets including The New York Times and Washington Post. This Future of Texas program features elections that are shaping Texas' future, giving Partnership members the opportunity to engage with these leaders on their field and hear perspectives on our state's most pressing issues.
