David Miree joined Wells Fargo in May of 2017 as executive vice president and lead region president for the Texas region. Miree is responsible for retail banking operations, including oversight of approximately 10,000 community banking team members, 664 branches, more than 1,200 ATMs, and $50 billion in deposits. He is based in Houston.
Most recently, Miree served as an executive vice president with Webster Bank, where he was responsible for managing the branch network, consumer deposits, customer contact centers, strategy and distribution, as well as the investment division. A 26-year industry veteran, Miree has extensive financial services experience in senior roles. As the executive vice president and managing director of Sovereign Bank/Santander’s U.S. retail network, he was responsible for a network of 750 branches. His oversight included branch design and strategy, customer experience, business banking, small business, retail risk, training, and the investment services division, which included a team of 250 financial advisors. He also previously served as the executive vice president and region president for Wells Fargo in Philadelphia/Delaware.
Miree is a graduate of Ohio University, where he earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree of science. An active member of the community, Miree has served on a number of boards, including the Urban League of Dayton, Ohio, where he was vice chairman, and the Pennsylvania Banker’s Association. He also worked closely with the Walter Luckett Foundation in support of disadvantaged youth.
