The nature of work and skills that Greater Houston's workforce need are rapidly changing. Digital advancements in the workplace are driving shifts in the education and skills a workforce needs at an even more accelerated pace, particularly for the one million careers that require education and skills beyond high school but less than four years of college.
In 2014, the Greater Houston Partnership launched UpSkill Houston to strengthen Greater Houston's talent pipeline for these careers. Over the last five years, UpSkill Houston has been recognized for its role in bringing together businesses, industries, educational entities, and community organizations to work collectively to address a common goal of improving Houston’s talent pipeline. The Partnership has spent the summer working with the Boston Consulting Group to develop a strategy to accelerate UpSkill Houston’s impact.
Join us as we look ahead to how UpSkill Houston can serve as an engine that will help the Houston region meet its new and emerging workforce needs.
Due to limited capacity, registration for Council luncheons is required. Registration will close at 12:00 p.m. the Monday before the Council. Partnership Councils are complimentary and open to all member company employees.
