According to Biodiesel Magazine, Texas’ annual biodiesel production capacity of 322.5 million gallons per year is the highest in the United States. With 14 biodiesel plants, Texas also has the greatest number of biodiesel plants out of all the states.
The Houston area represents 78.3 percent of all biodiesel production capacity in the state of Texas. Houston has 12.8 percent of the U.S. total in biofuel refining capacity (2.5 billion gallons per year).
According to Drive Biodiesel, the state of Texas has 46 fueling stations where biodiesel is available.
