Biodiesel Energy Overview

According to Biodiesel Magazine, Texas’ annual biodiesel production capacity of 375.5 million gallons per year is the highest in the United States. With nine biodiesel plants, Texas ties with California for the greatest number of biodiesel plants out of all the states. 

The Houston area represents 33.7 percent of all biodiesel production capacity in the state of Texas. Houston has 4.5 percent of the U.S. total in biofuel refining capacity (2.8 billion gallons per year).
