Apple plans to bring production of its Mac mini to the U.S. for the first time at its existing northwest Harris County facility. The expansion builds on Apple’s $600 billion investment announced nearly a year ago to reshore critical manufacturing operations to the U.S., doubling its footprint in the Greater Houston region.
“Apple is deeply committed to the future of American manufacturing, and we’re proud to significantly expand our footprint in Houston with the production of Mac mini starting later this year,” said Apple CEO Tim Cook in a press release.

The Houston site also manufactures server components that power Apple’s AI software systems — infrastructure essential to data centers.
Additionally, Apple is opening a 20,000-square-foot Advanced Manufacturing Center that will serve as a workforce development hub, offering hands-on training in advanced manufacturing to students, supplier employees and American businesses. Participants will learn the same precision processes used to build Apple products.
This announcement represents another meaningful win for the region and reinforces Houston’s competitiveness in securing complex, technology-driven manufacturing projects.
