A wave of new mixed-use developments is taking shape across the Houston region. Here’s a look at recent projects:

Moody National Development has broken ground on Silo Springs, a five-story, 346-unit apartment community in West Houston. The project marks the first phase of a decade-long, mixed-use redevelopment centered around the historic Shadowdale grain elevators, which will serve as a focal point of the 17-acre site.
Silo Springs will offer outdoor living spaces, a two-story clubroom, resort-style pool, fitness center and a 2,200-square-foot café open to the public. Future phases include 80,000 square feet of retail, additional multifamily units and potentially an office building and boutique hotel.

The Signorelli Company is now leasing space at The Village Green, a new 20-acre lifestyle destination within The Marketplace district at Valley Ranch in New Caney. The pedestrian-friendly development will feature retail and office space alongside open-air public areas with patio dining, cafés, fitness concepts and boutique shops, plus a nearly one-acre park for community gatherings. Construction is scheduled to begin this summer, with first deliveries expected in Q4 2027.

HS Development Group has broken ground on Seabrook Town Centre, a 19.5-acre mixed-use project that aims to create a new urban core for the small community on Galveston Bay.
The project will include two retail and restaurant buildings surrounding a courtyard with a stage and water feature. The space is already 55 percent pre-leased, with tenants including Pomodoro’s Cucina Italiana, Neighborhood Tap and Tropical Smoothie Café, according to the Houston Business journal.
The development will also feature a four-story, 320-unit apartment complex called The Edge at Seabrook Town Centre. Amenities will include two pools, two fitness centers and a pickleball court. The project is expected to be completed by Q2 2028.

The Houston Texans, Harris County and Howard Hughes recently announced plans for Toro District™, an 83-acre sports and entertainment development in Bridgeland. The district will anchor the Texans’ new headquarters and training facility, expected to open in 2029, alongside retail, restaurants, residential, hotel and medical space.
The training complex will include an indoor fieldhouse and three outdoor fields designed to host large community events and support youth programs, internships and educational partnerships with local schools and colleges.
