The Greater Houston Partnership has elevated regional resilience as a strategic imperative through its five-year framework, Houston Next: Advancing Opportunity. The goal is ambitious: position Houston as the most resilient coastal city in the world. That work focuses on strengthening the systems the region relies on every day and must restore quickly when disrupted, including power, communications, transportation, health care, flood control and storm surge, water and wastewater infrastructure.
Resilient Structures’ investment in Houston aligns directly with that vision. The company manufactures high-performance composite utility poles that last up to four times as long as standard wooden poles, and have never succumbed to a weather-related event. This is one of the core systems essential to the region’s ability to withstand, respond to and recover from major disruptions. Through its partnership with CenterPoint Energy, Resilient Structures will help advance grid hardening efforts and strengthen the infrastructure that powers homes, businesses, hospitals, schools and industrial operations across Greater Houston.

The Partnership and Partnership Lake Houston celebrated the project win in 2023, bringing an initial investment creating 200 jobs. The recent announcement of two new production lines is anticipated to add another 150 follow-on positions, further creating economic opportunity for Houstonians.
