The Houston Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) has 44.0 percent of the nation’s base petrochemical capacity, according to IHS.
IHS data shows that in ’20, metro Houston had 40.1 percent of the nation’s capacity for polypropylene resins, 44.0 percent of its capacity for polyethylene resins, and 31.6 percent of its capacity for polyvinyl chloride resins.
